Benefits of scholarships through the CMAA's Club foundation

You’ve heard Wayne Gretzky’s famous quote saying, “You miss one-hundred percent of the shots you don’t take.”  This is directly applicable to the multiple scholarships made available through the Club Foundation. 

The Club Foundation provides financial assistance in order to fund the life cycle of a club manager’s career in the following five areas:  Students, Faculty, Club Managers, CMAA Chapters, and the industry at large.  The mission of the Club Foundation is to raise funds to financially support the professional development of club managers through education, training and research initiatives. 

In addition to the highly valued financial support, receiving a scholarship through the Club Foundation provides managers the ability to be recognized for their efforts, and can prove helpful in elevating ones’ career.  Rising stars and top performers are often recognized, and these achievements are broadly recognized within our beloved profession.   

Scholarships available through the club foundation are:

• Joe Perdue Scholarship – For undergrad hospitality students pursuing a career in the club industry.
• Student Chapter Grant – Assists CMAA Student Chapters with expenses related to attending World Conference.
• Faculty Internship – Enhances club industry expertise among hospitality faculty.
• Sally Burns Rambo Scholarship – For female club managers interested in furthering their professional development.
• James B. Singerling Scholarship – for first time World Conference attendees. 
• Willmoore H. Kendall Scholarship – For assistant club managers pursing the CCM designation through the CMAA.
• Faculty Research Grant – Provides means for hospitality faculty to conduct industry intensive research. 
• LaRocca Family Executive Scholarship – A two-part scholarship for seasoned leaders in the club industry that take an active role in mentoring.
